As every working woman knows, it’s a constant juggling act, to try to find that balance between kids and bringing home a paycheck. But, that’s where New England based, EmployMoms comes in. The web based company matches up companies with working moms who are looking for flexible hours. And the company’s CEO AND Founder Jane Seibel tells us how it works.

It’s a common struggle for moms who must work to find balance between their kids and bringing home a paycheck. Although highly qualified, these moms refrain from applying for good jobs because standard “office hours” aren’t an option.

Jane Seibel is the Founder/CEO of New England-based EmployMoms (www.employmoms.com)- a savvy new staffing agency designed just for mothers! Women throughout New England with young kids are being placed in GREAT career jobs with local companies. For employers facing a shortage of skilled workers, the nation’s approximately 5.6 million mothers with children under 15 represent a large pool of untapped talent.

I started working on my business plan for Employmoms in the fall of 2006. My aha moment was when I was visiting Canada and found myself at a local pool meeting moms from the area. We began talking and the conversation quickly turned to what we did for work or what we used to do. The conversation turned into a discussion about the lack of options available and how each mom individually was trying to “make it work.” I left Canada and went to visit my sisters-in-law and very quickly we entered into the same conversation that we always have about how to “make it work” I realized when I left them that this was a universal problem and that since my children have been born I was having these conversations everywhere I met mothers. I spent the next 8 months exploring a way to make this easier for mothers and out of this exploration grew Employmoms, a staffing firm for professional mothers.
