Pamela Kauten, chief executive of Florida HomeLINK, an online service that connects home buyers with realtors in the communities in which they are looking for homes, has been chosen as a finalist for the Tampa Bay Business Journal’s 2008 BusinessWoman of the Year Awards. The Awards presentation and gala will take place on Friday, August 15th at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Tampa.

Ms. Kauten will compete against six other finalists for the top spot in the Information Technology category. The overall BusinessWoman of the Year will then be named from the winners of each of the eight finalist categories.

“I’m honored and very excited to be a finalist for BusinessWoman of the Year,” said Pamela Kauten, chief executive officer of Florida HomeLINK, the company she founded earlier this year with her two sons, Adam and Nick. “My sons and I are passionate about building a successful family business that will also benefit our community. Florida HomeLINK is the realization of a dream for me as a mother, an employer, and a businesswoman excited to be playing a role in Tampa Bay’s economic growth and success.”

Florida HomeLINK.com enables real estate professionals to advertise their active listings and homeowners their for-sale-by-owner listings online. The web site features local video streaming produced weekly about various Tampa Bay communities and events called Xperience Tampa Bay. Realtors and home sellers will be able to upload their videos and photos, and home buyers can create a dream home profile and receive instant notification when homes meeting their criteria are listed.
