Heather Morrow, owner of Concierge, believes that not only has the time for her business arrived, but that she has the perfect location for it as well.
“What better place than the front of an old hotel,” Morrow, 37, said of her storefront located off the lobby of the New Southern Hotel in downtown Jackson next to Starbucks. She wants to offer her menu of personal services to corporations, businesses, and individuals, and she believes she has an array of support contractors who can fill most needs.
“I was sitting in a meeting when I had this idea,” she said. “I’m a visionary - I have ideas all the time. I just thought that it would be a great business.”
Morrow plans to hold the grand opening for her business the first week of July. She is excited by the prospect.
“I want people to understand that I have a lot of experience, and I have a lot of creativity,” she said. “I like work. I like to be busy and have lots to do.”
Even a partial menu of Concierge’s offerings will draw attention. Morrow and her staff will help plan and execute: meals for special occasions (bona fide chef available for five course dinner complete with music), clean houses, cut lawns, detail cars(pickup and delivery included), personal shopping, clean carpets, courier service, wedding planning, horse and carriage rides - even baby planning and nursery dŽcor. Hours, pricing and contracts are negotiable depending upon where services are needed most. She is planning to have romantic packages for two that will involve a five-course meal, music, and horse and carriage ride.
“As a mom, I realize how special family time is,” Morrow said. “I wouldn’t be taking the time to start this business if I didn’t think it would be beneficial.”
