We are a very diverse country. Residents of this country come from many other countries. So when Julia met her husband Bee while living in Thailand as a teacher she really did get to grow a love for things from that country.
Before leaving her home there and moving to Maine where she’d grown up, she knew she had to continue to nurture how she felt about the country she was in and a connection with family and friends still there. The groundwork for her online store Monkey Beanz.
Many of the products offered through Julia’s website are handmade and they are a fair trade focused importer of the products that she brings in from her husbands home country. Workers are paid fair wages for their work, no ’sweatshop’ style making process.
The clothing line offered through her website is designed by Julia and Bee, although the clothing is made by seamstresses in Thailand.
There are great things from all over the world that can be celebrated. Julia has taken that opportunity to bring to light what great things can be found from a country we may not hear that much about in the US. All the while she is able to work from home and take care of her children.
