Jane Taber, Dawn Estes, Jessica Thorne and Lori Carr said together they have more than 70 years of large firm legal experience.
“By the very nature that we’re all female we certainly have that sisterhood, and I think we feel the same way and it also lets us serve clients in a different way,” Taber said.
The women are also moms, which they said was a huge motivator in leaving the big-firm climate.
“We can practice law and we can be a mom and it’s OK to be both, and you don’t have to hide the day care issue,” Taber said.
Estes agreed. “All you’ve got to say is, ‘I have a kid who’s sick,’” she said. “You don’t have to say, ‘Will you help me?’ Women are just naturally caretakers.”
