Although the Simple Startup Small Business software was not created by a mom, MomLaunch is dedicated to moms. Dave is the man behind this software that is designed to help moms start their own part-time businesses from home.
I got the email Friday letting me know that the website was officially up and people can now join. So I did just that and got my own store set up. Setting up the store for the first time was relatively easy. And I was pleasantly surprised to see that they also offer a wordpress based store blog. That is one thing I have not seen any other free service offer.
MomLaunch, although it is free, does offer paid options that can be very helpful for the mom that is expecting to sell a certain amount of their product or service per month. The free plan is supported by advertising, but the pro and unlimited plans are not. With pro you can sell up to 100 items per month, or with the unlimited plan you do not have any limits. The cost of pro is $14.95 per month, and unlimited costs $29.95 per month.
So what exactly was the inspiration for Dave to start this service? His sister. You can read the note she wrote him on the website under Our Story. In short, she had questions about starting a business. During the time he spent helping her, he ended up realizing that their were not many resources out there for moms who were looking to start their own businesses.
After a long process and finding the time to work on MomLaunch in between a full time job and spending time with his own family, MomLaunch is now born.
Dave is offering a large deal for the first moms who manage to join MomLaunch before the end of the year, he is giving each mom a one year subscription to the unlimited plan for free! This may end up being limited, it depends on how many sign ups he receives, but if you’ve always wanted to start your own e-store, this is a great mom-specific place to start at.
