For most people, this year’s Christmas shopping has come and gone. But it’s never too early to begin thinking about next year — or, for that matter, Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, birthdays and anniversaries.

Anyone with jewelry on their wishlist, who prefers the convenience of Internet shopping, is in luck. Melissa Jennings has created the perfect Web site just for you.

Custom designs on personalized name bracelets and beaded jewelry is her specialty, with a variety of other hand-made gifts available for sale at her business Web site, mjenningsdesigns.com.

Since starting MJennings Designs, LLC in September, Jennings has seen steady business. Popular sellers include name bracelets custom made to feature birthstones of children and grandchildren.

Working from her Independence home, Jennings juggles her time between making the jewelry, tracking orders, updating the Web site and taking care of her three-year-old son, Peyton.

“He keeps me hopping,” said Jennings, 34, who utilizes mid-afternoon naptime to the fullest extent possible.

“Sometimes I treat naptime as a planning period,” she adds, in reference to her 11 years of experience as a Home Economics teacher at Campbell County High School and Lloyd High School.
