Q: As a stay-at-home mom, you’ve got your hands full with a 2-year-old, a 4-year-old and another on the way. Do you figure you’re building this business for the future?

A: While I am doing this as a business for the future, I don’t want to take away from my primary job, which is to be a mom. My goal is to have this business well established so that when our three children are in school, I’d like to be able to work at least five hours a day. Right now, I work late at night and two days each month, which isn’t much. It’s definitely part-time.

Q: You can work late at night because of the Internet?

A: Right. All of my materials are purchased online. Almost all of my orders come in online. Shipping packages I can do with the kids. If you think of the nature of the products, it isn’t something that can be worked on when the kids are around.

Q: How do you get things done?

A: When they take naps, I can come down here and work. I can send back e-mails during the day. At night, I do the cutting and mounting.

Q: How many hours a week do you spend on this?

A: Each scrapbook takes at least 12 hours. I spend from 8:30 at night to about 12:30 at night three or four nights a week. To be honest, a lot of times it’s until 2 (a.m.). On weekends, I have a few extra hours (when her husband watches the kids).
