13WMAZ:

We’re still 3 weeks away from Halloween, but many stores already have Christmas items on their shelves. If you’re looking for a way to make some extra money for the holiday shopping season some users from our Middle Georgia Moms Web site suggest you look into work-at-home opportunities.

Michelle Rhoades is an independent consultant for The Body Shop at Home, selling pampering products like soaps, lotions and oils. She says she made $500 last month, but suggests you research a company before investing your money.

Rhoades said “First of all you have to be passionate about the product, second, make sure if you can get it from the consultant, then find out what your business tools are, and finally how much extra expenses are.”

Lori Seymour is a work at home mom in Macon who sells baking products for Tastefully Simple.

She said “My kids didn’t have a play set and I wanted them to have a play set and it wasn’t in the budget.

She continued, “It was one way that I saw that I could visually say I’m contributing to the bottom line.”

Seymour started selling the products seven years ago and says she makes an excellent income now.
