Shani Sam, owner of Tot-To-Go™ Baby Products has been entered into the ring to win The SavvyMom Mompreneur™ of the Year Award. The reader’s choice contest is designed to find Canada’s top Mompreneur™. The winner will be announced in the fall, and will be rewarded with an $18,000 prize package of cash, business services and office equipment designed to help take her business to the next level.
Shani Sam founded Tot-To-Go™ Baby Products in 2006, soon after the birth of her daughter. After a long search for a practical, versatile and affordable baby carrier, Sam decided to design her own Baby Sling. The Tot-To-Go™ Baby Sling was inspired by her daughter Madeline who was born with a variant of biliary atresia, a rare form of liver disease.
“Madeline loved being carried. It was the only way I could comfort her. She was always in so much pain,” explains Sam. “I designed my Baby Sling around her needs and mine. She loved to be held and I needed to have my hands free.” The result is the Tot-To-Go™ Baby Sling, a sleek one-piece baby carrier that is versatile, fashionable and affordable.
“I am so happy to be able to share with parents a solution that allows them to bond with their babies hands free,” says Sam. “I really enjoy helping parents feel close to their babies but still maintain a sense of freedom throughout the day.”
“Winning the Mompreneur™ of the Year Award would be an honor and a dream come true for me,” says Sam. “When you operate from home and run a household, your budget for expansion and marketing is so tight. The cash reward and the professional business services would certainly help provide me the opportunity to take my business to the next level.”
