OC Mama is a website created and written for mothers living in Orange County, California. An online weekly publication, the website offers a plethora of information and
resources for new mothers. Included on the site are a list of various family services throughout Orange County, write-ups of products for parents and kids, highlights of local working mothers, and a retail element offering an array of books, clothing and accessories for babies and toddlers.OC Mamma was created and founded by Arianne McHugh. Shortly after giving birth to her daughter, McHugh began using the Internet as a vehicle to retrieve information about babies and motherhood. She soon discovered a website featuring Orange County-related baby and family information did not exist. “There are so many great websites dedicated to babies and first-time motherhood,” states Arianne McHugh, “but I was looking for Orange County- specific information such as child care, a list of ‘mommy and me’ classes, as well as a connection with new moms in my city. I wanted one central place to find all the information I needed.” It was with that sentiment McHugh decided to create that central place for mothers, and OC Mamma was born.
Celebrating women and motherhood, OC Mamma was founded to promote balance and well-being to mothers in Orange County, California. OC Mamma, based in Newport Beach, Calif., provides its readers with up-to-date information on baby- and family-related information, group forums, as well as a retail element. OC Mamma was designed as a central place for moms to get equipped with the information they need to do the most important job of their lives while remaining hip and happening.
