Mom Wrote The Book On Childhood Learning… Literally

Ebpublishing.com:

Sarah Ceccanti-McNamara is not your regular stay at home mom.

Her recently published book “Learning Starts At Home” includes sample lesson plans for teaching the basics before starting school, such as the alphabet and counting.

Ceccanti-McNamara was inspired to write the book by her own daughter, Caitlynne, who is a well adjusted and smart child with a warm smile and happy disposition.

“Having one child does not make me an expert in early childhood education,” said Ceccanti- McNamara. “However, prior to becoming a full-time stay at home parent, my corporate career involved helping adults learn how to be more efficient in their jobs, including problem solving and time management. I guess, those same skills inspired me to create the lesson plans I use with our daughter.”

Ceccanti-McNamara considered it “an awful waste of time” (and money) not to make the most out of her day with her child. After all, her husband, Sean McNamara, and herself sacrificed the security of her paycheck so she could stay home and raise their daughter.

Ceccanti-McNamara, while working as the Director of Training at Alamo Learning Systems, was responsible for managing, training and developing training programs. She has worked 15 years in the training field.

“The lesson plans work,” said Ceccanti-McNamara about her practice with Caitlynne. Children learn as much in the first four years of life as they will in the next thirteen.”
