Universal Preschool:

Why do mothers want to work from home? The main reason is because they want to play the primary role in raising their children while making a meaningful contribution to their household and to the community at large. Current trends speak to the difficulty of mothers working full-time.

Recent books and continuing studies show that moms are feeling tired and juggling it all is a strain for many. The opportunity to come home and care for family is very attractive but can seem out of reach for families accustomed to living on two incomes. Moms may have rich experiences, years of education and specialized knowledge they would like to use. However, moms also know how much time and work it takes to mold little lives and they are looking for solutions that will allow them to be true to the values that most moms hold dear. But can a woman really make money staying at home?

One major myth about work at home mothers is that working from home will only make you a little “spending money” each month. Now, this may be true for some mothers and it may be enough for some, but other mothers are making much, much more.

Recent news and television specials have highlighted work-at-home mom ventures that gross one million dollars per year or more. Some of these mother’s home-based businesses have propelled their families towards financial independence and they even have their husbands working with them. Financial independence is possible with perseverance, creativity and willingness to take risks.
