Two years ago, CJM Associates was a struggling start-up. Today, it employs 23 people and produces revenues in the millions. And this week, they announced a partnership with a global investigative firm, Sutton Associates.
Few businesses experience such rapid growth. But those who do often have a dynamic leader behind their success. CJM is no exception. Cynthia Michaud was a married mother of two in Medical studies when she found herself a single mom needing to find a way to support herself and her children. So she did what most people are too scared to try even in the best of circumstances: She started her own business. Two years later, CJM Associates employs 23 people and produces revenues in the millions.
“I founded CJM to help businesses handle tricky situations internally so that companyies can avoid scandals,” Michaud says. “We provide auditing services, including investigating fraud, and help businesses restructure so that they are in compliance. I guess you could say we are the CSI in the forensic fraud world. What we do is actually pretty sexy.”
After founding CJM Associates she wore the many hats of Doctor, CEO, Mom, Dad and head of household. Today, she focuses on her business and being the best mom she can be. Fortunately, she has a talent for motherhood and brought experience to her business. Before getting married and having two children, Michaud was an executive at two big four accounting firms that audited health care organizations and insurance companies. She came to CJM with the experience and necessary knowledge to help businesses be in compliance and find internal fraud.
