Inside Bay Area:

Sheri Sudra and Laura Roy are confident you have hidden treasures tucked away in your home. Or perhaps they’re out in the open, just not in the right place.
That’s where Sudra and Roy come in. Owners of Deco Home Design, the two Pleasanton residents can “turn your home from drab to fab in just one day.”

Sudra, mother of a 4-year-old and 7-year-old, started the business a year ago and brought on Roy, mother of a 10-year-old and 19-year-old, as a partner during the summer. Sudra is an interior redesign industry specialist, and Roy is an interior design specialist.

The pair are quick to reassure that they don’t go into a client’s home and tell them what is wrong with it or what needs to go.

“We try to validate what they have,” Sudra said. “We just go in there and get ideas from their stuff.”

Deco Home Design charges $150 for the initial consultation, and then about $250 to $300 for the actual redesign, depending on the size of the room. Entire houses also can be redesigned to help the rooms flow better from one to another.

A redesign typically takes only one day, with about an hour to an hour and a half per room. The designers usually will have clients pack things away they don’t have to keep in the room.
